It was sunny and beautiful outside which was a change of pace from Friday where it was pouring rain all day. My team’s first event was at 3:13pm so we (Brooke Wells, Jessica Griffith, and Jared Stevens) decided to venture to find Cuban coffee at a local joint. We ended up at a gem of a place called KC’s Café, terrible service, but great food! I had a cup of coffee and it tasted so good. I try not to drink coffee or intake caffeine, except for one time a week. I felt I needed a splurge. I enjoyed every last sip. I don’t know if it tasted so good because of the environment (Miami heat plus sunshine outside) or company I was with, or if it just tasted that good. Anyways, during the breakfast we received a notification that we had to swim with shoes because the barnacles and ramp were cutting the bottom of peoples’ feet. We went on a hunt to find water shoes. After about an hour we found some! Fun times!

I noticed during the competition that I felt really good for about 2 hours and then I needed a nap, not a long one, but at least 20 minutes. Luckily, our hotel was a 10- minute walk to the venue so this was possible. I would not have made it all three days without naps and food about every 3 hours. I am so happy about how my body is reacting to competing and working out! It’s beginning to adjust well and understand it’s going to happen daily. My bowel movements have been pretty regular this weekend and not at all constipated. I hope this keeps up because constipation is miserable. I think exercising helps with the constipation and staying hydrated. I drank so much water this weekend, over 3 L/day. I was thirsty constantly. I didn’t mind that at all.

The last workout of the night was 2 hours off and at 9:50pm we were in the coral and of course what happened it started pouring rain. We were in a delay until 10:30pm and finished up at 11pm. This event was the most fun of them all because our team worked so well together, and we won the event! I was exhausted by the end of the day.
